Frequently Asked Questions.

1. What the heck is all this?
We don't know how you got here if you don't know, but this is a Harry Potter themed website for livejournal icons. Not that they can't be used for forums, or other online journal sites like blurty, ujournal, deadjournal, and ad infinitum, but we use livejournal so that's what we're calling them.

2. Who are all you people?
Two Americans and two Australians, all four Potter fans, all four with nifty graphics programs, large image and font libraries, and far too much time on their hands. Oh yes, and between the four of us sanity tends to...vary a little.

3. Can I use your icons?
How narcissistic would we have to be to put up these hundreds of icons in obsessively sorted order with accompanying text and then not let anyone use them? Seriously. Use away. Credit (and maybe a link back) where credit is due is all we ask for.

4. How do I use your icons?
Save the icon you want to your hard drive. Then follow the instructions for uploading icons on whatever journalling site you use. If you need to change the file type, it rather depends on what type of computer you have but changing the file extension (i.e. ".png", ".jpg", whatever) manually or by saving another copy in the new extension through an art program should work.

5. Can I edit (that is, modify or incoporate into another icon) any of your icons?
No. Why? Because we said so. Sorry. There are a couple of sites that do have icons for you to play with; please see links.

6. Can I host any of your icons on my site?
Again, no. If you really want to gush on about our stuff, link to our site. We've worked hard on these and would prefer to keep them exclusive.

7. What fonts/brushes do you like using/did you use in this icon? Where do you get your images?
Please refer to links. If that doesn't answer your question, ask us.

8. Can I be a guest artist, if I have icons?
No. It's invitation-only, because it's a huge site which takes a lot of time to update, so we want to keep it between a small group of friends, guiltlessly. Please don't ask, it makes us unhappy.

9. Will you make me a custom icon / take a suggestion?
We won't make custom icons that only you can use. However, we will take suggestions, though we can't guarantee they'll be made into icons. Send 'em to us.

10. There's profanity on your icons - OMGWTF?! / Why are you saying something mean about this character?
We don't take these icons all that seriously and we don't suggest you should either; we don't really want this and that character to die or whatever, so cool your jets. As for the first question, icons are kept at a PG-13 level, so yes, there may be profanity and/or artistic nudity on them. But frankly? If you're old enough to be surfing the internet on your own without parental supervision, you're old enough to deal with what's on our icons

11. Don't you all have lives?
Of course we do. Well, Tinderblast doesn't, but the rest of us do.
